Project Description

The project consists of 1200 sqm of new accomodation and 1200 sqm of refurbishment. The new build comprises of the entrance hub link building and the 2 storey dining hall block. One wing of the original Board School (Block C) will be demolished whilst the remaining buildings will undergo internal remodelling, refurbishment or be refreshed. External play areas will also be addressed. The proposals will create a unified set of buildings with improved circulation and accessibility, and a clear organisation that places the Nursery and Reception in one wing, Infants in another wing and Juniors on the first floor.

The new hub extension fits with the scale of the existing buildings but contrasts with them to provide a clear modern identity and an identifiable entrance. The new 2 storey dining block is set behind the other buildings so does not have a street presence.
